One of many frustrating games in a 1999 season where the Royals ended up 64-97. A two-out, two-strike, two-run homer by Carlos Beltran would see the Royals with a 5-4 lead against the White Sox going into the bottom of the 9th. Tim Byrdak came on to relieve Don Wengert after Wengert gave up a hit and a walk with no outs. Byrdak would load the bases. Magglio Ordonez gave the Sox a walk off with two runs scoring to end the game 6-5. White Sox starter, Pat Daneker went 7 innings in what would be one of his only two starts as a major leaguer.
