Royals select Rule 5 pick LHP Robert Fish from Yankees roster

The Royals now have a second rule 5 player in Robert Fish to compete for a job in spring training.

This is what I wrote about Fish before the rule 5 draft -

Big, dirty lefty with several delivery flaws..got torched in the summer and in the AFL..but twitch here and there could merit a Andy Sisco type

The burly 6’3 lefty was the Angels 6th round pick out of high school in 2006. He carries a career mark of 20-20 with a 5.05 e.r.a in 126 games (58 starts) he has struck out out over a batter an inning. He was strictly a reliever last seasons throwing 58 innings and striking out 73. He walked 26 and had a lofty e.r.a of 6.79 throwing mainly for the Halos AA club. He would have faced the Royals hitters plenty and I am sure the Royals brass got a long look at him last season. He throws a fastball that touches 95 but settles in around 92-94 on any given day. He has a solid, yet inconsistent curveball according to rghan of Halos Heaven.
