Jake Odorizzi didn’t have much problems with the heavy hitting environment that is Las Vegas Tuesday night. Â The Royals top pitching prospect at the upper levels had struggled to give Omaha innings in his first fourteen starts (4.95 per start) their has given them back to back seven inning starts with his latest effort. Â He made it through 6.2 innings without allowing a hit, walking two and pumping the zone with 67 strikes on 105 pitches to earn his 9th win at AAA and 13th overall. Â The Chasers earned that win for Jake with a pair of three run innings in the 5th and 6th that put the game away as the offense put up eight hits in those two innings with five of those hits being doubles. Â Lefty Brandon Sisk worked the final two innings to preserve the shut out which lowered the MAGIC NUMBER to 4.

Potomac Nationals 7 Wilmington Blue Rocks 5
The Rocks were given plenty of chances but couldn’t cash them in enough to come away with a win in their second game in Potomac. Â Wilmington collected eleven hits, four free passes and were given six extra opportunities on Nationals errors but a 1 for 9 effort with runners in scoring position and a tough outing by Chase Boruff did them in. Â Wilmington had captured a 5-0 lead through the top of the 5th inning ith three of those errors by Potomac leading to runs as well as a solo home run by Brett Eibner. Â From there though the offense went went dry and a big 6th inning off of Chase Boruff turned a 5-2 lead into a 7-5 deficit and eventual loss. Â In that 6th starter Leondy Perez turned things over to Boruff with one on and one out only to watch Boruff allow back to back singles in front of a Stephen King triple and a JP Ramirez single to score four runs before leaving a inherited runner on that came home on Tyler Sample’s watch. Â Wilmington got a pair of runners on in the 8th only to have that rally snuffed out which lead to the loss.

Billings Mustangs 3 Idaho Falls Chukars 0
Sam Selman continued his dominance of the Pioneer League despite taking his first loss of the season. Â The Vandy lefty matched his season high eleven strikeouts last time out with eleven more in this one over six innings while allowing just five hits, a walk and one run. Â That lone run came in the 5th after Selman retired the first two of the inning he gave up a Jon Matthews triple prior to a Beau Amaral single to put the Chukars behind 1-0. Â Idaho Falls was unable to get any sort of rally going as they collected just three hits on the night to drop the game 3-0 when the bullpen gave up a couple more runs. Â Selman has struck out 73 hitters in 47.1 innings good for 13.88 per 9.

Burlington Royals 8 Princeton Rays 2
They call them the BTownBombSquad on twitter and on Tuesday they showed why with three home runs among their eleven hits and eight runs scored. Â It was Bubba Starling who got the home runs and runs going in general in this one knocking out his 9th of the season to left field in the 4th inning to even up the game at one apiece. Â 2012 draftee Fred Ford would team with first baseman Mark Threlkeld to go back to back in the 5th to give the Royals a 4-1 lead. Â For Ford it was his 12th of the season to tie teammate Patrick Leonard for the team and league lead. Â The lead would be 4-2 in the 7th when the Royals would put back to back two run innings together with the doubles by Alex Hudak and Cam Gallagher that lead to runs in each inning. Â The win kept the lead in division at 4.5 game for the Royals.
