An offensive explosion doesn’t quite describe what the Chasers offense did Sunday night in their easy win. Â By the end of the third inning every Chaser in the lineup had at least one hit and scored one run. Â All of that came in a 15 run, 18 hit barrage that included home runs by Mitch Maier, Wil Myers and David Lough. Â For Myers that was home run #34 on the season and was one of his five hits on the night increasing his AAA average to .302. Â All told the Chasers punched out 20 runs on 33 hits to cruise to an easy win, the 33 hits fell three short of the PCL record. Â Starter Doug Davis got the win with all the run support to improve his record to 7-2 on the season.

Frisco Rough Riders 6 NW Arkansas Naturals 4
The Naturals let a 4-2 lead get away from them in the 9th to take a loss against Frisco. Â The Naturals had built that two run lead with a navigation job by Noel Arguelles who worked around seven hits and five free passes only allowing two runs in his seven innings thanks to eight groundouts including a couple of double plays. Â NW Arkansas scored two in the 7th on a bases loaded hit by pitch and walk then put on two more in the 8th with a two run home run from Yem Prades. Â That two run lead the Naturals took to the 9th was gone when Brendan Lafferty gave up a grand slam to Chris McGuiness with one out in the 9th which would prove to be the game winner with the Naturals couldn’t mount a rally.

Wilmington Blue Rocks 5 Salem Red Sox 0
Matt Ridings has enjoyed the bump to the Carolina league and the rotation earning another win Sunday to finish off a Blue Rocks sweep over Salem. Â The former Western Kentucky Hilltopper cruised through seven shutout innings against the Red Sox allowing just 3 hits none of which came before the 6th inning when he worked around a pair of hits with the help of Jose Bonilla’s caught stealing. Â The Rocks offense put Riding ahead in the 4th with an RBI double by Matt Fields, added to it with a solo home run by Murray Watts and tacked on three more in the 7th to put the game out of reach. Â Ridings turned things over to Nick Rogers who who worked the final two innings scoreless for the win which pushed the Rocks into first place all by themselves.

Kane County Cougars 9 Cedar Rapids Kernals 5
The Cougars offense came alive in the 2nd game of their series with Cedar Rapids Sunday to take the series 2-0 and put themselves in position for a sweep tomorrow. Â It was a balanced attack by the offense with five different hitters having multi-hit games including Julio Aparicio’s four hit game and Henry Moreno’s three hit day that included a double and a home run. Â Starter Kyle Smith took advantage of the run support earning his 3rd win of year despite allowing four runs (3 ER) in five innings on a five hits and a walk. Â The pen made up for Smith’s less than stellar start allowing just a unearned run in the final four innings to pick up the win. Â The win pushed Kane County into a tie for the final playoff spot in the Midwest Leagues Western Division with 21 games left.
