Minor League Profile Everett Teaford

Download PDFEverett Teaford  is very much a pitch to contact pitcher. The 12th round pick in 2006 out of Georgia Southern (he was 26-13 in 3 seasons with 353 k’s, 106 bb’s in 347 ip) has been a survivor in his professional career. He has looked very good at times when he locates his pitches and is able to deceive the opponent. He is known to be one of the all around good guys in the system and he won the Mike Sweeney award at the Royals annual banquet following the 2008 season.

The 6’0 155  lefty throws a 4 seamer, a change, and a curve and will use his change a lot. He started his career at Idaho Falls in 2006 and went 5-1 with a 3.71 e.r.a and 51 k’s vs 20 walks in 63 ip. He has climbed the organization level moving up a level each year. He did repeat Wilmington in 2009 (going 7-1 with a 2.39 e.r.a)  but found himself at Northwest Arkansas before the season was over. He was tested in the Texas league going 3-7 with a 5.11 e.r.a. AA is a huge test for pitchers moving up from the Carolina league as it can often gobble up pitchers that have had success at lower levels with less than dominant stuff.

He has pitched very well this season (written 4/20) and if his ladder is still moving up the 26 year old  should end up at Omaha before the season is over.
