Dayton...we just cleared salary to make room for talented players that make sense for us going forward. We do still have Ortiz under contract thru next year. But, we like Butler quite a bit and could play him at 1B and DH against some lefties.
Francouer would be a tough one for us ...but that one year left money wise is a bugger.
Obviously, you know the upside of Webster and Ruby ...we feel both could be solid mid rotation guys for you next season.
If you eat 5 million of the Frenchy contract we might have something...what do you think?

I can't imagine a GM in baseball that would trade an arm like Moore or Price for a 1B with promise...and mind you, a 1B who is having an awful year. Will he be Adrian Gonzalez or will he be Travis Lee?
Btw our 1B Carlos Pena has a hair under the OPS of Hosmer this season...and both are having bad seasons

Granted, Pena and Hosmer are both having down years, but do you honestly think Pena's a better bet next year than Hosmer?
...and let's not pretend all the risk is on you. Is Moore the next Pedro, or the next Ankiel? We both have considerable risk here.
