Omaha Storm Chasers 7 Oklahoma City RedHawks 6
The RedHawks jumped all over Chasers starter Nate Adcock Monday taking what they thought was a commanding 6-0 lead into the sixth inning. Â Those six runs came via nine hits and three walks allowed by Adcock continuing a stretch of poor starts from the right-hander giving him a 8.44 ERA in July. Â Trailing 6-0 Wil Myers got the comeback kickstarted with his 31st home run of the season, scoring Tony Abreu who had tripled previously. Â The Chasers would tie the game the very next inning when Abreu would connect on a two run two out double and then score on Myers 32nd home run. Â The game remained tied until the top of the ninth when a fielding error by Oklahoma City relief pitcher allowed Derrick Robinson to score on an Abreu fielders choice giving Omaha a 7-6 lead that Vin Mazzaro would protect in the bottom half of the inning.

Springfield Cardinals 9 NW Arkansas Naturals 5
Yordano Ventura had a tough couple innings early which earned him an early exit after just 1.2 innings. Â The starter worked out of a jam in the first after walking and hitting the first two hitters of the game getting a double play ball off the bat of Oscar Taveras and a fly ball out from Jamie Romak to end the inning. Â The second started out well for Ventura getting the first two hitters out but the wheels fell off quickly following a walk as Springfield would put together four consecutive hits to score four runs and end the starters night early. Â The Naturals would comeback scoring three in the bottom of the eighth to tie the tie game thanks to doubles by Rey Navarro, Yem Prades and Kevin Kouzmanoff. Â That tie didn’t last long when Nick Rogers lost the strikezone, walking four and giving up a hit to allow five runs which lead to a Naturals defeat.

Kane County Cougars 5 Quad Cities River Bandits 3
Plenty of doubles among Kane County’s nine hits Monday as they came from behind to finish off a three game sweep of Quad Cities. Â Starter Angel Baez struggled in one of his five innings as he did last time out giving up three runs in the 3rd when the Bandits put together four singles, a walk and a sac fly to take the lead. Â That score would remain until the bottom of the fifth when a two run double off the bat of Jorge Bonifacio would give the Cougars a 4-3 lead. Â The Cougars fifth double of the game in the 6th inning lead to another run when a fielders choice scored Dean Espy. Â The bullpen shut things down the final four innings allowing just a hit and a walk in that time, helping Baez earn the win and moving Kane to within 2 game of first place Clinton.

Princeton Rays 8 Burlington Royals 2
The Royals usually stellar defense was a total letdown Monday committing four errors and leading to a rare defeat with Colin Rodgers on the hill. Â The left-handed Rodgers gave up five hits and a pair of walks in five innings while allowing five runs (3 ER) in that time to drop his first professional game. Â The usually stellar Royals offense was held in check with only Bubba Starling doing much damage with his 5th home run of the year while also collecting his 5th double of the season.
