Reno Aces 4 Omaha Storm Chasers 2
Tough night with runners in scoring position lead to another defeat for the Chasers. Â Omaha took a early 1-0 lead thanks to a sac bunt by Irving Falu that scored Derrick Robinson from third. Â That lead would hold up until the 6th when an error by shortstop Tony Abreu put a runner on to leadoff the inning and a two out single by former Royal Mike Jacobs scored a pair. Â That error would lead to a hard luck loss for Nate Adcock despite a solid start from the struggling right-hander giving the Chasers 8 innings of 7 hit, 1 walk ball and just the two unearned runs. Â Reliever Roman Colon gave up a pair of runs in the 9th on a two run home run by Cole Gillespie making the run the Chasers scored in the 9th meaningless.

Arkansas Travelers 2 NW Arkansas Naturals 1
Newly acquired J.C. Sulbaran’s first start was less than efficient for the Royals AA affiliate. Â The righthander acquired in the Broxton deal could make just four innings on 83 pitches while walking three and giving up a run on three hits and striking out two while getting a no decision. Â Both teams struggled to get much going collecting just six hits apiece but the Travelers put a run on the board in the 5th with a two out double that turned out to be the deciding run.

Salem Red Sox 6 Wilmington Blue Rocks 5 F/11Â
The Rocks dropped an extra inning affair in Salem Saturday pushing them into last place despite just a 1.5 game deficit in the division. Â Starter Jason Adam struggled in his five plus innings giving up nine hits, a walk and four runs while striking out just one, taking a no decision in the process. Â The Rocks had staked Adam to a lead in that time thanks to a three run 5th that included a RBI double by Brett Eibner and two run single from Matt Fields. Â After the Red Sox tied the game in the 6th they gave the Rocks the lead in the 8th with an error that lead to Wilmington run but they would overcome that with run in the bottom half of the inning. Â The game would go to extras where a one out triple would eventually lead to a bases loaded walk off bases on balls win by the Red Sox.

Cedar Rapids Kernals 5 Kane County Cougars 2
The Cougars heart of the order seems to be tiring towards the end of the season and the pitching just can’t carry them as the team dropped another game Saturday. Â Starter Angel Baez was knocked around in his four innings giving up eight hits and five runs (4 ER) to drop his 4th game of the season. Â The offense could muster just a run off Kernals starter Cam Bedrosian despite three free passes leading to just two runs in the game. Â Rightfield prospect Jorge Bonifacio is hitting just .219 in his last 34 games while drawing just six walks in that time.

The Chukars offense was stifled by the three Owlz pitchers limiting the Idaho falls offense to just three his and putting away ten hitters via strikeout. Â With no offense starter Zeb Sneed would be saddled with a loss when he allowed two runs on three hits and three walks in his five innings.

Pulaski Mariners 16 Burlington Royals 4
The Royals pitching staff was soundly knocked around Saturday with the Mariners hitters popping 17 hits and 16 runs off the first three Burlington pitchers they saw. Â Those runs lead to a lopsided loss for the Royals which have seen their lead in the division trimmed to 3.5 games over the Danville Braves. Â The one bright spot in the game came off the bat of Bubba Starling who hit his 7th home run of the season to join teammates Patrick Leonard, Fred Ford and Kenny Diekroeger in the Appy League top seven in home runs.
