Oklahoma City Redhawks 7 Omaha Storm Chasers 6

The Chasers grabbed a 6-2 lead in the fifth but were unable to hang on dropping their third consecutive game at home. ¬†Lefty Doug Davis was handed that four run lead thanks to a two run home run by Clint Robinson, a run scoring from Johnny Giavotella and Anthony Seratelli’s RBI double but the left-hander couldn’t avoid problems in the 6th giving up a 3 run home run to Brett Wallace. ¬†An inning later Francisley Bueno gave up the lead eventually sending the game to extra innings where a Fernando Martinez home run off Jeremy Jeffress ruined the Chasers day. ¬†One bright spot Johnny Giavotella extended his hitting streak to 11 games while hitting in 16 of his last 17 games to give him a .382 average during that time.

Arkansas Travelers 6 NW Arkansas Naturals 4

The Royals AA bullpen couldn’t hang onto a late lead Tuesday dropping their fourteenth game in fifteen tries. ¬†Starter Sugar Ray Marimon bounced back from a poor start last time out limiting the Travelers to just 2 runs on four hits and three walks in his 6.2 innings, leaving with a lead. ¬†That lead was built partly on the bat of Brian Fletcher who seems to be enjoying the run environment in AA, hitting his fifth home run in just his 23rd AA game with his two run first inning home run. ¬†The Naturals had a 4-3 lead in the 9th but reliever Jon Keck couldn’t make it hold up giving up three runs on three singles and a pair of walks blowing his first save since his promotion.

Royals catcher Cam Gallagher was back in the lineup Tuesday helping his team continue their winning ways. ¬†The big righthand hitter collected three hits in four AB’s to improve his average to .341 while driving in one run and scoring another to account for two of the Royals four runs. ¬†Those four runs stood up thanks to another good start from Colin Rodgers who extended his no hit streak to 10.2 innings prior to giving up a single with one out in the 5th. ¬†The 3rd round lefty finished off the 5th to end his night with just a hit and a walk allowed earning his second win thanks to four innings of two run ball by the bullpen.

About The Author

Clint Scoles

I grew up on the mean gravel roads of Iowa where I started my love for baseball from the age of 2. George Brett and the voice of Denny Matthews deepened my love even more for the Royals as my father and I spent summers listening to the team on our deck or in the car on our way to or from my little league and high school games. Sports was always the common bond that my father and I enjoyed and the Royals were in the center of that. I currently live in La Vista with my wife, two sons, two dogs and a pair of gross cats where we are grinding through until we can move somewhere warm when we retire. I own Casino Cab Company and Bluffs Affordable Auto Repair in Council Bluffs trying to build my 1% empire. If you are in the area you can find me at Omaha Storm Chasers games on most nights or just follow me on twitter @ClintScoles.
