Yes, he is for real…he has as pretty of a swing as anyone I have seen…very Will Clark esque. He had a run of bad luck last season and had some brushes with immaturity that helped lead to his struggles and a organizational desire to get him out of Burlington.
He won’t be on the major league team next year unless he goes to AA and absolutely rakes the same way Moose has this season.
Wilmington is a tougher place (the Carolina League as well) to hit than the Texas League so I would like to see Hosmer play with his buddy at NWA this season…But, I also think he needs to stay in high A a little longer…Keep in mind he is doing this with very little protection

Question about Hosmer. Is the guy for real? His numbers are phenomenal for high A Wilmington, does he do better in Springdale?, and what are his chances of joining the team next year with Butler and Kila ahead of him? Does he stay at first base?

No….lane is a good project but not a prospect yet
Cole is waiting assignment for a team in extended…I imagine he goes to Idaho Falls
simmons is a quality prospect…good athlete and has tweaked his mechanics
so far…but won’t know for 5 years

Callaspo would bring a lot more now than in the off season. But, I think he would bring a 11-20 rated prospect for some team or a decent MRP.
Butler would bring more but most teams see his value at DH…still should be able to get more for him than anyone else on the team not named Greinke

I believe they are hot on this trail and guys like Carlixte will sign after the draft…if tallion is available and they don’t draft him it will say a lot about their desire for signing international talent

ok thanks. I dont even know if that is what Ryan ment, but it is the way it sounded. He has refrencced it a few times, so I was just interested to see if you had any info to back that up… I mean Ryan talks to everyone everyday so im sure he knows things that even you don’t I just wanted your input on that

I think Trey just never had any of his pre conceived plans work out…again, I go back to not giving him a veteran bench coach. I have heard some other things bur nothing I think that made him the manager he was…

Greg you may not know this, but Ryan has refrenced a couple times that Ned Yost is a delegator and lets his coaches do what they were hired to do. I dont know if he means it this way but he seems to imply that Trey was sort of a micro manager. Do you know if that was the case, and if so could that be part of the reason things seem better for now?

1. Trey had very little as far as I can tell…although I have a feeling Yost wants the best 25 up here and does not want to worry about things like starting contracts early
2. None, sorry but I am less optimistic after my last post
3. I don’t worry to much about AAA being skipped because I think each individual is different. Mentally some are just better prepared…I can’t comp Gordon to Moose for several reasons and there have been enough guys that have skipped AAA that I think that is an unfair belief

The new job is a move that I needed to make…great job, company car, work primarily from home and better situation for my family. As far as broadcasting or radio work I am sure someone will find time for me.
Bubba Starling is the real deal..:great athlete getting offers to play QB at schools like Alabama. Throws hard and will be a potential #1 pick in 2011. But, one of many great talents in Kansas city
moose will hit more home runs and I compare moose and Hosmer to matt williams and will Clark when they came up together in San Francisco

If hes good enough and doesnt make it I think will be because of service time. Which I dont like, but that is one of the few things the Royals have working in their favor, so you can see why they would want to work the system

1. I had my media credential taken when I left 610…which is fine because I still will be connected and while the media cred is nice to have I did not necessarily need it to stay in touch with the baseball world
2. NO…I do not think Dejesus is going anywhere. But, I do think he would bring a nice return and if you think he can bring you something of significance than I think you should move him
3. I really think they will take Yasmani Grandal….But, if I had to guess the top 3 I would say Grandal, Machado, Whitson (Tallion only if he falls but he will be very expensive)
