Checking In On Birthday Boy Scott Pose
In addition to Todd Benzinger, today marks the 46th birthday of Royals alumnus Scott Pose. Pose appeared in 133 games during 1999 and 2000 mostly as a reserve outfielder and designated hitter. In 185 at-bats, Pose contributed 13 RBI’s with three doubles.
Pose managed four years in the majors, but may be more known for what he’s done off the baseball diamond. Pose was in the 1999 film For The Love of the Game (the one where Kevin Costner portrayed a Detroit Tigers pitcher).
Lately Pose has has been a college baseball analyst for the Big Ten Network in addition to being on the television crew for the Durham Bulls (AAA affiliate of the Tampa Rays).
For you baseball buffs, Pose will most likely always be known as the first official batter for the then Florida Marlins in their initial 1993 season.
A brief career, but the answer to a solid baseball trivia question.
